Antique, Philippines Adopts the Human Dignity Curriculum

Launched in 2017, the Human Dignity Curriculum is a program designed for K-12 students that teaches personal identity and human excellence.

The curriculum examines several themes that build on each other grade by grade. The first theme develops an understanding of the dignity of the human person, the intrinsic value of the person, which is marked by the uniquely human capacities for thinking and choosing (intellect and will).

With that understanding in mind, students study human agency, human freedom, and the ability to make choices that enable human flourishing. As students’ eyes are opened to issues in their communities and the wider world, they are empowered to pursue excellence.

Early pilot programs of the HDC took place across the US, Saint Lucia, Mexico, and the Philippines. Since then, the curriculum has been used in countries around the world including:

  • Cameroon
  • Kenya
  • Lebanon
  • Paraguay
  • Ecuador
  • Iraq
  • And more

The HDC has also been recognized by the National Youth Commission of the Philippines as an effective drug resistance program.
